We’re Dave and Alissa Wied!

We have been married for more than 24 years. We love the Lord, our family, and the privilege to serve in a ministry we’re passionate about. We have two adult daughters who grew up on the mission field in Puebla, Mexico, where we lived for almost 5 years while serving with Living Hope International, continuing stateside until 2021.

We currently call Wisconsin home. Like most missionaries, the word “home” is a very fluid term. Word of Grace Church commissioned us in 2013 to full-time missionary service and we remain under their spiritual covering. We serve in our local church, Christian Life Fellowship, and travel where and when ministry opportunities arise.

We are a unique blend of creative and administrative professionals who work very well as a team. Both holding BA degrees in Design and Marketing from UW-Green Bay, we bring a hands-on proficiency in various disciplines, including layout, design, photography, and writing. Dave’s work history includes being employed by Wycliffe USA in Orlando, FL, then launching an online retail business which we operated full-time for 5 years before Dave was hired as the Communications Director for a marketing firm in Grafton, WI.

Entrepreneurial and ambitious, we are ready for challenges and we thrive when able to launch and grow ideas into realities.

Outward Heart was founded on the idea that wonderful “heart” work is happening in tons of ministries, yet too often that work never makes it to the public’s eye, minimizing the glory God receives through testimonies and more, and it limits the ability for people to grasp the vision, share in the passion, and participate. This is not the fault of impassioned founders and leaders of ministries, it is simply that they are not marketers, may not have the know-how to increase or refine their presence, or perhaps they simply don’t understand the importance that the outward appearance has on their calling.

We’re here to help.

Making a big impact for God’s kingdom starts with taking small steps of obedience, trusting Him to lead the way to a bigger picture of life we could have never imagined for ourselves.” –Alissa

The Lord has made it clear how we are to serve Him in this next season of life, drawing from our experience–offering our time and talent to ministries doing His work in a wide variety of ways and places.” –Dave
