Modern Day

Receive 1099

Fees: 

• 6% Admin fee, plus: 1.2% for echecks, 2.7% credit cards, 3.7% AmEx
• $60 Application fee

Pros:

• Clean, modern website
• Housing allowance available on case-by-case basis
• Donors can manage their own donations, contact info and see giving history at any time
• Donors are given the option to cover the 6% service fee when “checking out”
• Get to create your own missionary page with links and photos however you want

Potential Concerns: 

• Great for missionaries already established, but not as much support for new missionaries trying to figure out fundraising as other orgs
• Donors must set up an account with password through DonorGive (can’t give anonymously or easily with 1 click)
• Donors must be 18 to set up a DonorGive account
• They cap your distribution at $4,000/mo (but it just waits until a lower giving month, or if it’s consistently over that, you’ll just submit a budget to them to show general expenses in order to increase your limit each month)

 

Global Service Network (GSN)

Receive 1099

Fees: 

• 7% Admin fee, plus: 3% for credit/debit card
• No application fee

Pros:

• Clean, modern website
• Housing Allowance available on case-by-case basis
• New missionaries are given $100 credit toward support raising training
• Have 2 newsletter services
• Willing to send invoices for those looking to do part missionary service and part freelance work

Potential Concerns:

• Require an advisory team/board that meets twice a year. Notes submitted to GSN

World Outreach Missions

Fees: 

• 10% Admin fee, plus: 5% for all online gifts
• No application fee

Pros:

• Great support for new missionaries with tons of intro info and a Resource Library
• Housing Allowance available
• 2 Deposits per month
• Great system for tracking donations, donors, create lists for prayer partners, mailing lists, etc.
• Tax/Accounting help/suggestions and 50% off through a specific partner
• Access to Unmuzzled Ox for 4 months

Potential Concerns:

• Outdated website and email design
• Require at least quarterly newsletters, but prefer monthly

Paraclete

Receive W-2

Fees: 

• 10% flat admin fee

Notes:

• Carefully choose the missionaries they work with
• Bi-annual retreat attendance required
• Quarterly skype meetings
• Use Donor Perfect and deposits are the last day of the month
